Another Paper Machine View …
No information or details on this image other than the obvious … a paper machine. I would guess that it could be one from the Pensacola News Journal that my father had made back in the 1950’s. I have a post somewhere on this blog of a man standing along side of the paper machine showing the scale of the machine. I wish that I had more info, but photos like this have always been interesting to me … I hope some of you out there find this interesting also. The more than anything else, it just shows how far technology has progressed in the last 40 or 50 years. Thanks for looking and please check back … Frank

Thanks for the comment … my father did so many types of photography, I am just trying to show a wide range of subjects. A lot of the images that are interesting to me as a person is how these things look so ” primitive ” in today’s world and at the time they seemed so advanced. I know that sounds cliche-ish ( I do not know if that is the right word ) and is obvious to anyone, but the point I am trying to make is how far we have come in the last 50 or 60 years. And the sad thing is that it has gone in the blink of eye ( another bad cliche ), so I am going to stop before I make any more stupid statements or cliches … Please check back and comment again … Frank

Thanks Ray … Since my father photographed such a wide variety of subjects and events, I have quite a few different photographs to post. I know not everyone will like everything that I post, but hopefully some of these photos will give people an idea how far we have progressed. And even though this was a much simpler time, everyone looks to be having a good time and they seem to be enjoying themselves without a cell-phone or an iPod with ear-buds or whatever. It used to be that I used to have to tell people to be quiet and pay attention … now it is put down the cell-phone and look at the camera. Times have changed! Thanks for looking and commenting … Frank
