One More Group of Nurses …

Group at old Sacred Heart Hospital …
This group has nurses, nuns and ” Waves / Wacs ” ( not really sure ) in it, so this photo must have been made during WW II. You see the Red Cross flag pinned-up to the wall in the background, so maybe this was some type of enlistment / recruitment meeting. I just thought it was an interesting photo. Thanks for looking …
Playing Ball …
Here are some kids playing ball in the park that is diagonal from the hospital. The park is named ” Cordova Square ” and I posted a image of it covered in snow several posts back. This photo was made in the mid-1930’s and I have several different versions worked up of this same print. I will post some of them in the near future. The baseball diamond was taken down in the 1940’s sometime and I have a story to share about that and I’ll do that when I post the photo. Notice how the dog is right there in the game! Nurses at old Sacred Heart Horpital …
Just a group of nurses at the old Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola Florida. No names of nurses and no date. Not sure of the area of the hospital that this was taken in, but it could be in the recovery room? It could be the operating room, but I sort of doubt it. And I also do not have a date, but I am going to say late 1930’s or earl 1940’s. Thanks for looking and all comments are welcome …
Nursing Group Graduation …
This a photo made at the end of the graduation from Sacred Heart Nursing School which was held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in downtown Pensacola Florida. The Bishop in the bottom of the photograph is Bishop Toolen from the Diocese in Mobile. Not one hundred per cent sure on that, but since there was no Pensacola – Tallahassee Diocese at the time this was made, it makes sense to believe that it was him, but as usual, I could be wrong. This photo was made in the 1940’s sometime, so it might not be too hard to check on. Thanks for looking …

The date on this group of Sacred Heart Nursing School graduates was May 7, 1947. At least I have a date for this group, but I have no names. I have run across a few of these groups and have set them aside to scan and post. I plan on doing more of these in the future and I am posting several of this type now. Thanks for looking …
