Fiesta Parade 1956 …
These are from the Fiesta Parade of 1956. I do not have any comments about any of these … they are pretty much self – explanatory. The first photo below is of the car carrying the Governor of Florida at the time – LeRoy Collins. There is a photo of him in an earlier post and it might have been taken before the parade started …
I think that there are 16 photos in this post and I believe that I broke it up on the other blog that I had, but since I did not have any comments or information about any of these images … I just decided to post them all. If anyone recognizes any of these groups or people, please let us hear from you. Thanks for looking … Frank
I have a copy of the sixteenth photo in the Fiesta of Five Flags group – the one with Nations United and the Kiwanis K on the side of the float. I was in the PHS Class of 1956 and one of several students in costume on the float. I know some of the folks. Peter Lee is in the Uncle Sam outfit on the back of the float. In the front row, Dolores de la Rua is on the left, I’m in the middle. In the second row, Joe Williams is the center person, but I cannot identify the other two persons.
Peter is now a retired Episcopal Bishop of the Diocese of Virginia and currently is Interim Dean of the Episcopal Cathedral in Paris, France. Dolores and Joe are living in the Pensacola area.

I can see the restaurant and I can remember eating there. I know that it was owned and ran by a Greek family who had it for years, but I cannot remember the owner’s name or the restaurant’s name. I know that someone will answer this question, so please check back. Thanks for commenting … FRank
