Pensacola Regional Airport …
Back in the 1950’s, Pensacola’s airport was known as a regional airport and you only had two airlines servicing the airport – Eastern and National Airlines. Now, both airlines are out of business and Pensacola is known as an ” International ” airport, even though there are no international flights out of the airport. I can remember sites like this very well at the airport and I can remember the airport looking like this. If anyone has any memories that they wish to share about their experiences at the Pensacola ” Regional ” Airport, please be my guest. Thanks again for looking …
LOVE it! Daddy flew for Eastern and what a GORGEOUS shot of his plane YOUR dad got! (Not to mention, got those Wings of Gold here, before flying for the Marine Corps.) thank you so much for putting this beauty up. Now I’m on a hunt for the girl in the Eastern plane hat. THAT was a sight in the paper…

Thanks for the comment … The hat must have been part of a fashion show that Eastern Air Lines put on and I am pretty sure that those photos were made at the San Carlos Hotel. But as usual, I could be wrong. I am glad that you like the Eastern posts, I have a few more to put up in the future and also Pensacola Airport photos. Please check back in with us later about the ” Hair-O-Plane ” and thanks again for the comment … Frank
