Frank Hardy Made My Photographs Two

Jarrard Motors …

This is the last of these old photos that I have posted before, but ones I have run through the Lucis Art Filter.  If you run a search you should be able to find the original photo in the first post.  I personally like the look this filter gives, however I am not going to take the time to do all of these photos.  Only the ones that have detail that this filter enhances.  Thanks for looking and as usual, all comments are appreciated … Frank

  1. Very nice picture. I was researching Jarrard Motors as I collect antiques and have 2 metal automobile emblems that say Jarrard Pensacola. I was told that they were saved by someone that had worked there when it closed and he had passed and the contents of his home were sold. I have lived in Pensacola for almost 20 years and have never heard of this business.. Mike

    • Thanks for the comment … Google ” Wendall Jarrard ‘ and read about him after the car lot, it is very interesting if you have any interest in Florida history of the 1960’s. I have a photo of one of those car lot emblems that my father made out west that I will post later. Thanks for commenting and please check back … Frank

    • mdpackman, I would be interested in the emblems you have if they are still available. This is my great grandfathers dealership and I have a dealership in Statesboro, GA. It would be great to be able to display them. Thank you!

    • Thanks for the comment. I had heard from a relative of yours from over in Mobile Alabama several years ago, but never heard back from him. I believe I also heard from someone in Statesboro Georgia, but I am not sure about that one. I have some photos from the auto show that Wendell Jarrard sponsored on our local tv station that I am going to post in the future, so please check back. Thanks again… Frank

  3. Thank you for continuing to share your dad’s photos! Do you have any from Jarrard Motors when the Clydesdales were there? I wasn’t very old, but so remember that! Sincerely,

    • Dixie … I have never heard that they were at Jarrard Motors before, but no, I have not seen any negatives with Clydesdales. I have only run across negatives from the tv show, the car lot that was down on Garden Street ( which was where this photograph was taken ) and of Wendall Jarrard himself. If anyone runs across a snapshot of this event, contact me and I can see about scanning the image and posting it. Thanks again for looking and the comment … please check back periodically … Frank
