Flowers by David …
This building is still located out on Barrancas Blvd across from the Pensacola Country Club Golf Coarse. It has been many businesses since it was David’s House of Flowers and I believ that it is empty now. I always thought that the building was interesting and I have never been in it. This type of commercial photography was popular back in the 1950’s. The buildings you see photographed today mostly have blue sky and white puffy clouds or they are photographed at dusk. Since my father photographed many weddings back in this time, I sure that is how he knew this “David” . He was before my time and I do not remember my father ever mentioning him, but if anyone does, please feel free to make a comment. Thanks for looking!

The owner of this business was David Gentry he was from myrtle grove. I believe after selling this shop he moved to New Orleans. He was young at the time this photo was taken but he was a fantastic floral designer.

Thanks John … I never knew him or his work, just his building. Everything that has been said about him has been nice and positive. It is a shame that he did not keep his business open here. I hope that he went on to bigger things over in New Orleans. His building was nice, so he must have been doing something right. Please check back … Frank
