Camping in Style …
I called this camping in style, because most of the mobile campers you see are being pulled by a truck and this looks to be a Buick or maybe even a Cadillac. It might have been in style, but I bet you it was HOT! I am pretty confident when I say that there was no air conditioning in either the car or the trailer. I do not have a clue who the kid is and I am pretty sure that it is not me standing in the doorway of the camper. This photo has always interested me in who owns this set-up and why did my dad photograph it to begin with? Thanks again for looking …
I have seen this pic before..You might want to check with Axel Frederickson he is my Uncle Charlie’s son . I am guessing it was him. Your family and the Fredericksons’ were like family @ one time. I remember you and Mom & Dad always being around for whatever the celebrations may have been @ my Aunt Margaret’s house. Love your pics !

Belinda … Thanks for commenting. I saw Axel and Rosemary in downtown Pensacola last month at Gallery Night and had a nice talk with them, in fact, it was the first time that I had seen them in several years. They looked good and it was nice to see them. I do not know where this photo came from and I did not find it until after my father died … it was taken out west somewhere and I am fairly sure that he never took a trip out west with Charley, Axel and Margaret. I am sorry that I have never met you … I know that Charley had relatives from over in Mobile, are you one of them? Or are you kin to the Lagergreen’s ( not sure of the spelling )? However, I am glad you commented and hope to meet you someday. My father thought the world of Charley and Margaret, and so did my mother. I can remember one time when my mother was sick in the hospital and Margaret coming and staying with her. Thank you very much for commenting and please let me hear back from you … Frank

True we have never been formally introduced. I am relalated thru the Frederickson side. I spoke with my Mom in regards to the pic and she said that Uncle Charlie and Aunt Margaret traveled around the US and most likely it was Charlie that took the pic. and that was Axel in the doorway. Yes , indeed I was born in Mobile, AL. My grandmother was Margarite Frederickson Brookins. The Lagergreens are like the Brookins. Sisters … Aunt Irene and Margarite were sisters and Uncle Charlie was raised as their brother but in fact was actually the son of Aunt Irene. Yes, Aunt Margaret used to babysit you as your mother only trusted her.
I indeed hope we get to meet one day.. All I know is that your dad and Uncle Charlie were very close and they were like family. You may not remember me as I was just one of those kids hanging around @ Aunt Margaret’s house ..On Romana St. and Alton off Navy Blvd. I will continue to check out pics u have posted as I love looking at them. Please keep in touch and let me know next time you go to an invent like Gallery NNight..

Belinda … I did not know about them driving around and camping, but it makes sense … it very well could be Axel standing in the doorway. I remember their house on Romana Street as a kid. We used to go over there and eat dinner. I can remember sitting out on the steps after dinner and playing in the street with the neighborhood kids … Axel was much older than me and was too big to play with a 5 or 6 year old … I had forgotten all about that house until you just now mentioned it. I do not remember you, like you said there always seemed to be some kids around. Thank you for writing and commenting, besides finding out about these photographs, I hoped that this blog would enable me to connect with people who I never would have come in contact with. Thanks again and please keep in touch … I am not hard to find. I am not in the yellow pages anymore, but you can find me fairly easy on the internet if you google me. Keep in touch … Frank
