Beach Beauty …
I am not sure of this lady’s name, so I am not going to mention it. My dad used to do a lot of these type photos for the beauty contests that they used to stage at the Casino on Pensacola Beach. I have some photos that I posted on the old site that I will find and post so you can see what I am talking about. Thanks for looking …
May I have permission from you to post this photo of Frances on my family tree? With credit as noted.

Yes, feel free to use them however you would like. In fact, if you send me an address to my email: frank@frankhardyphotography.com
when I run across the negatives I will mail them to you. I could not remember putting her name in the blog copy … the name was not familiar to me and I can not remember ever knowing any ” Posner’s “. After reading your other post, I have known a few ” Chavis ” in my time. And there was a ” Chavis ” family that grew up down the road from us in Cordova Park on Dunwoody Drive. I believe the dad was a builder here in Pensacola doing the 60’s. Thanks again and let me hear from you … Frank

I do believe you have the correct name on the file for this photo. From what I have been told by family she was the first “Miss Pensacola Beach”?

I do not know who this lady is, but back in the 1950’s, they used to have beauty contests at the old Casino on the beach. All of the girls needed a photo, so my father used to make quite a few of them. All of the negative envelopes have names, but a lot of the name I cannot read or have faded away over time. They are just some pretty girls and it was a different time back then. Now, they can make 50 or 60 bathing suits from the bathing suits worn back then! Thanks for the comment and please check back … Frank

The file name of your photo says Frances Poyser (that is correct) and she was married to my Uncle Levoghn Chavis back in the early 50’s, but later divorced. I very much appreciate your site, I just recently put a link to it on our Chavis Family facebook page and several of my family members in Pensacola are enjoying as well. I was born and raised in Pensacola and come back on a regular basis.
