Frank Hardy Made My Photographs Two

Al’s Bar …

with 7 comments

This is Al’s Bar on Gulf Beach Highway.  It was located four or five blocks out from Navy Blvd, almost across from Sunset that runs in front of the old Navy Point Shopping Center.  I do not know if Al’s is still there, most likely not since this photo was made in the 1950’s.  I know one thing … Al’s patrons sure had a fine taste in cars!

    • Cam … those are nice. The Martine sign is not there anymore, is it? You must have made those photos years ago … I like the posterized effect you did in Photoshop. Thanks for the comment … Frank

      • Frank,
Thanks. You can go ahead and remove this post. I just wanted you to see the Palm Furniture shots in case you have any negatives of when it was in its prime, I’d sure love to see them for comparison.

  2. That’s a 1957 Chevrolet and a 1956 Ford Thunderbird, for dating the photo.

  3. Al’s had the very best pastrami sandwiches ever, piled high with very thin slices of pastrami!
