Bronson Field …
These are some negatives that I purchased on Ebay of local air base Bronson Field. I am not exactly sure where Bronson Field was located, but I want to say it was located somewhere near Perdido Bay. I might be completely wrong there and the people that I purchased them from were not exactly sure either. I cropped this negative to show just the flight line and the plane that is taking off below …
There is one other negative that I received and it shows the control tower along with the planes …
And like the one above, I cropped out everything and just showed the flight line …
The photos are nothing really special and you can tell that they were taken by an amateur, but the old cars and planes are interesting. If anyone runs across anymore images like these on Ebay or anywhere else, please let me know. I used to look on Ebay, but you can end up wasting a lot of time with just the shear volume that is on the site. Most of it, to me, is a lot of junk / mess that people think are really valuable and exciting and I am not good at filtering it out. Also, if you run across something at a flea market locally let me know. Thanks again and if anyone knows something about Bronson Field, let us know … Frank
I’m staying out here at the old Bronson air field. Nothing but an rv recreational park now. Old runway is still here with airplane hooks embedded into the concrete.
Thanks for sharing your photo’s.

I live about a mile through the woods from Bronson Field. These are the first photos I have seen that actually showed the intact buildings. I love the history, unluckily there seems to be very little documentation or photos

Thanks for posting these photos of Bronson Field. The aircraft in the photo are U.S. Navy SNJs. Anyone who lived in Pensacola during the 1950s can surely remember the constant droning of the SNJs that were still used as training aircraft during those years.

Thanks for the comment Wayne … Like I said in my post, I found these negatives on Ebay and purchased them since they pertained to Pensacola. Even though this blog is for my father’s photography, I do not mind adding images that are relevant to the area or are something that interests me. I have no real hard and fast rules for the blog, other than it be some what interesting and informative. I am glad you found and please check back … Frank

Bronson Field is now Blue Angels Recreation Park on Perdido Bay next to Tarklin Bayou Preserve.

Thanks Robert … I thought that it was somewhere on the west side of Pensacola close to Perdido Bay, but I did not think about the Blue Angels Recreation Park. Somebody on one of the Facebook sites on Pensacola mentioned seeing these negatives for sale and I bid on them. They were not great photos, but the old cars and planes were interesting and I thought some people out there might be interested in viewing them. Thanks again for the help identifying the location … Frank
