Miami Beach From The 1950’s …
This was made back in the 1950’s … I have found several sleeves of these 120 negatives that my father made and I have worked several of them up and posted them earlier. Here are several more that I thought that I would post for your viewing enjoyment. The next show you the ” Colonnades ” Hotel down on Miami Beach. I am not sure if this place is still located on Miami Beach …
Now here is the hotel …
And finally, a view of one of the neighborhoods down in Miami … I can almost see Tubbs and Crocket hanging out on this street waiting for the bad guys to show with the goods ( now don’t say you do not know who Crocket and Tubbs are? ). I caught a Miami Vice on TV Land a while back and I could not get over how dated the show looked. If you look close, I swear you see Tubbs and Crocket in the back of that woody parked in the street. I will post some other photos from Miami later … thanks for looking … Frank
I love these photos! Yes, I do know Crockett & Tubbs…during the heavy coke years in Miami – late 70s – 80s. But any old photos of Miami (or any city) I find fascinating. Great. Just awesome. These photos are treasures. Will check back soon. D

Thank you for your comment … I have some other earlier posts of photos from the Pensacola Regional Airport from the 1950’s that my father had made and I have some more that I will post in the future. Pensacola and the Panhandle have the prettiest beaches in Florida, but we take some lessons from Miami in other areas … the arts, restaurants, etc, etc. I am glad that you came across my blog and that you comments … I appreciate all that people say and please check back … Frank

I will check out the earlier posts. I know what you mean – we go to Miami about 2X/year, and Florida is vastly different than Miami – in a good way. Miami is good, too, but it isn’t the whole state. Cheers, D

Can you point me to the link of the Pensacola plane post? Would you want to be featured as a guest author on my blog for 2014?

If you look on the right hand side of the page there should be a link that reads ” Pensacola Regional Airport “, click on it and it should bring up the posts where I have photos from the posts that I have written about the airport. I cannot tell you the exact post or it’s date, but they should pop up since I tagged them for future reference. I am still not very tech savvy, but I have been learning and I will get it eventually. I would love to be a guest writer for your blog and whatever your guidelines I would adhere to, just let me know. I am looking for any way to get readers to my site and I think that this would be beneficial for both of us … keep in touch and if there is anything that I can tell you, let me know. Frank
