Denise Darnell _ SFW_12 Dec 12

The only things that I could find on Denise Darnell was two movies that she was in … The Strip Tease Murder Case in 1950, in which, surprise, she played the star … the Stripper.  The other movie she played in was one fifteen years later called Mickey One.  Again, she played … drum roll please … a stripper.  Not the staring stripper roll, just one of the line-up girl strippers.  I am sorry to say that I have never seen either movie and I seriously doubt that they are DVD, but hey, one never knows.  If anyone has seen either of these movies or knows where I view a copy, please let me hear from you because I am really interested.  She was in Pensacola with the group of ” Doc, Kitty and Cochise ” for the Fiesta of Five Flags in the 1950’s.  Anyone that remembers anything about her and remembers her at the Fiesta, please share your experience with her.  She looks like a very nice lady and she looks out of character to be a stripper, but what do I know?  I always thought that Trader Jon’s was a high class ” club “.  Thanks for looking … Frank

    • Denise … I wish I had something to tell you about her but I do not. She was here in Pensacola when ” Doc”, “Kitty” and “Cochise” were in town for the Fiesta back in the 1950’s. I googled her name and all that I came up with was what I posted, which was not very much. Maybe someone that sees this blog will have something to share in the future. So please check back periodically and if you find out anything of relevance, please let us hear back from you. I try to update these posts with knew information, but most of the time I just post what other people find in the comment section. Thanks again and please check back … Frank

    • Thanks Robert … I went to the IMBd site and typed in ” Denise Darnell “. There was not very much info on her and I did not bother looking any further. I never could figure out what she was doing here and I thought that she might be a chaperone or somebody’s friend. Everyone that I thought might know something is dead, so I was hoping that maybe someone affiliated with the Fiesta that brought the other celebrities here to Pensacola might see her photo and speak up. So far no one has, but I am interested in finding anything that I can about her so I appreciate your comment very much. Thanks again for writing and please check back … Frank

    • I am going to say yes, but the Cerebral Paulsey group were the ones that sponsored them to be in the Fiesta. At least that is what the name on the negative envelope says. Back in the 1950’s, the Fiesta group brought celebrities in and they were really a hit in the parade. I do not know when that stopped, but I am sure that in the 1960’s the celebrities started to make more demands and that maybe the reason why it was stopped. I am not sure how to spell “CP”, so if I misspelled it, I’m sorry. Thanks for looking and commenting Marilyn … Frank

  4. The couple between Amanda Blake and Milburn Stone are Mr. Al Head and his wife Millie. The young woman holding hands with Michael Ansara is Karen Head, Al and Millie’s daughter. The Heads owned the Town House Motor Inn which was the premier motel in Pensacola at the time. The Heads are also in a photo you have posted that was taken at the Pensacola Airport when the celebrities were being greeted.
