Another Beach Beauty …

I just thought that this is a cute photo of a cute girl on Pensacola Beach back in the 1950’s … I hope you enjoy.  Thanks for looking, Frank

  1. Frank, this link would be perfect for @Mairi above. Perhaps you could email her this link: http://www.floridamemory.com/PhotographicCollection Typing “Pensacola Beach” as a search query returns nearly 300 hits. The photos are only 800×600 or 1024×768 pixels but larger photos can be ordered and/or digital scans.
My 1st cousin Louise Lamar was a professional fashion model and is actually featured in about 12 of the Pensacola Beach photos. Another friend, Joe Kingry who owned Skippers Diving, Inc. where I got certified to dive and believe you did as well is pictured in several images diving on the former USS Massachusetts awash in the mouth of Pensacola Bay. –Dunc

    • Is that Bobby Lamar’s mother? I cannot remember his brother’s name either … I thought that they were related to you somehow. Frank

  2. I loved the photos! I lived in Gulf Breeze, FL for about 24 year until I married a Navy man and have traveled a little. We now live in Lancaster, California in the High Desert. I have been looking and asking people where I can find vintage pictures of Casino Beach. I miss the beach terribly and have redone my house in a Gulf Coast theme, but of course I am missing pictures on my wall. Do you know where I could buy prints or I’m not even sure if they sell prints anywhere? I have looked on line and have asked my parents who currently live in Gulf Breeze if they know. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks for sharing the pictures!

    • Mairi … I do not have anything of the old Casino, but the Pensacola Historical Society has all types of photos and they do sell copies of the photos. Jackie down there is very helpful, so google the site and email them… feel free to use my name and let here know where you found it out. It won’t get you a discount, but everyone is always curious where their leads come from. Feel free to comment and anything I can do to help you with, I am happy to accommodate. Frank
