Cochise at Sacred Heart Hospital …
Since is another of ” Cochise ” when he visited Pensacola many years ago. Here he is at the old Sacred Heart Hospital with a group of nurses. It looks as if these girls might have been collecting money for something … I think these are Golden Bear Ice Creme containers. You have to admit one thing … Michael Ansara ” Cochise ” was sure a good sport! He really seems to be enjoying himself in the photos that my father made of him. If anyone remembers when he was here and met him, I would be interested in hearing what you have to say and I am sure there are a lot of others too. I will post some other photos of him later. Karen Head Askew died in a car accident on December 7, 1970, age 28, in Pensacola. She was my mother. I think it’s possible my grandparents, Alvin and Millie Head, sent her to California to accompany Michael Ansara back to Pensacola for the festivities. Another photo at the airport shows her in traveling cloths with what looks like her suitcase on the ground behind her.

I believe that Michael Ansara was wearing a wedding ring. He was married to Barbara back then.

Thanks … I never knew he was married to her. The girl that he is in the photo with was the daughter of the owner’s of the Town House Motor Lodge. I cannot recall her name now, but I believe someone mentioned that she was killed in an automobile accident years later. Thanks for the comment … Frank

I can narrow the visit of Cochise between 1958- 1960.Karen Head was in the photo and she died in 1961 in an car accident. She was in another photo of him at the Town House.

Thanks for the comment … I do not know who any of the nurses are int the photo or for what purpose that he was at the old Sacred Heart Hospital for. It looks as if he was there for some type of fund raiser because of all of the containers that the nurses are holding in the photo. If you can find out anything about the photo, please let us know … Frank
